Jinya (jinya.app, the Jinya logger and Jinya's Discord bot) is run by KarmaPanda in New York, United States. This policy explains what we collect, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: [email protected].

What we collect

Your account

  • Your display name and email address, and a scrambled (scrypt) version of your password. We never store the password itself.
  • If you sign in with Discord: your Discord user ID, username and avatar, and which of your Discord servers and roles matter to your guilds.
  • If you turn on two-step sign-in: the secret your authenticator app uses and your recovery codes (stored scrambled).
  • Your sign-in sessions, with the browser or app name each one came from, and when you were last seen.

Your guilds

  • Your guilds, roles, invite codes and settings; the in-game family name linked to you; your Discord server nickname.
  • Garmoth characters you link, and the builds you choose.
  • Attendance notes officers add (excused wars, vacations, members who don't war) and the guild's score weights.

War recordings

The logger runs on your computer. It reads your computer's network traffic, through Npcap, to find Black Desert's combat messages, and decodes them on your computer. It uploads only what it decoded: each kill and death with the family names, character names and guild names involved, where on the map it happened and when; node captures; and the in-game results screen (each player's kills, deaths, damage, CCs, healing and similar counters, and class). It does not upload your network traffic. When a game patch stops decoding, the logger may keep part of the game's raw traffic in its folder on your computer so the war can be read later; that file stays on your computer.

War recordings name other players, including people who don't use Jinya: enemies and allies in the same war, as the game shows them. You can also import logs from other loggers, which contain the same kind of information.

Public game information

To show classes, gear scores and guild membership, we look up the characters and families seen in wars, and your guild's in-game member list, in public Black Desert profile data (through community BDO API services). Private profiles stay private: we only get what the profile shows publicly.

Technical information

Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse (for example, too many password-reset emails) and isn't stored with your account. Our servers keep short operational logs of requests and errors. Cloudflare, which carries traffic to our servers, processes your IP address to deliver and protect the site.

How we use it

  • To run Jinya: sign you in, show your guild's wars, statistics, attendance and gear, and post war summaries to Discord.
  • To build public statistics and leaderboards, as your guild's and your own sharing choices allow (below).
  • To keep Jinya secure and working, fix problems, and send account emails (confirmation, password reset, confirmation codes).

We don't sell your information, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.

Who can see what

  • War pages are visible as their visibility says: public, unlisted (anyone with the link), guild (members and allied guilds) or officers only. Link previews show a war's score card.
  • Public statistics count wars from guilds that share them. A guild can hide its members' names or leave its wars out; a player whose family is linked can choose for themselves on their account page.
  • Guild pages (attendance, gear, member statistics) are only for that guild's members, and some only for officers. Gear from Garmoth never appears outside your guild's pages.

Services we use

  • Cloudflare carries and protects traffic to jinya.app.
  • Discord, when you sign in with Discord, add our bot, or use war summaries (webhooks post to your channel).
  • Email delivery: our email provider sends account emails to your address.
  • Black Desert profile data: character and family names are sent to community BDO API services to look up public profiles.
  • Garmoth, for characters you link there.
  • GitHub hosts the logger's downloads and updates.
  • Google Fonts: your browser loads the site's fonts from Google.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect Jinya, its users or others from harm.

Cookies and storage

We use cookies to keep you signed in, to remember the guild you last opened, and for the second step of sign-in. Your browser and the logger also remember display choices (theme, columns, colors) on your device. We don't use tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, until you delete it. Sign-in sessions expire on their own.
  • Wars, until the guild deletes them or the recording is taken out. Wars are part of a guild's history, so they stay when a member leaves.
  • Backups of the database are kept for up to 8 weeks.

Your choices

  • See and change your account details, two-step sign-in and sharing choice on your account page.
  • Delete your account yourself, at the bottom of your account page. Your sign-in, memberships, linked families and Garmoth links go at once (and from backups within 8 weeks); wars you recorded stay with their guilds.
  • Take your recording out of a war, or move it, from the war page or the logger.
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account for you: write to [email protected] from the email on your account (or tell us your Discord name). We answer within 30 days.
  • Don't use Jinya but appear in war recordings? You can ask us to hide your name in public statistics and leaderboards.

Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords, session tokens, recorder keys and recovery codes are stored only in scrambled form. Two-step sign-in is available for every account, and handing a guild to someone else needs a confirmation code. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you.

Children

Jinya isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, write to us and we'll delete the account.

Where your information is

Jinya's servers are in the United States. If you use Jinya from elsewhere, your information is processed there.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you on the site or by email for important changes.
