Everything Jinya does for a Black Desert Online guild, and how to set it up. New here? Start with the first section; the rest you can read when you need it.

Getting started

  1. Create an account with email or Discord on the sign-up page.
  2. Create your guild from the dashboard's "+" tile. Use the exact in-game guild name and pick your region: Jinya reads your in-game member list with it, so members with private profiles still count as members.
  3. Bring your members in. Share the invite link from the Member Roles tab, or link your Discord server so members get access from their Discord roles (see Discord).
  4. Record a war. Any member installs the logger, signs in, and presses Start before the war. The war page fills in live for the whole guild.

The logger

The Jinya logger is a Windows app that reads the game's network traffic during a war and turns it into kills, deaths, node captures and results screens. It never touches the game itself.

Install and sign in

  • Download it from the logger page. The installer is code-signed and the app updates itself.
  • It needs Npcap, the free packet driver Wireshark uses. If it's missing, the app downloads the official installer and opens it for you.
  • Press Sign in with Jinya: a browser page asks which guild this PC records for. No key to copy.

Recording a war

  • Press Start before the war (ExitLag can stay on). The Live war screen shows the kill feed as it happens.
  • Set the war's type, tier and region on the Live war screen; officers can also name it and choose who can see it. Saturday defaults to Siege.
  • Open the in-game results screen (during or after the war): Jinya picks up everyone's damage, CCs, healing and more from it. Open it once more after the war ends for the final numbers.
  • Several members can record the same war: Jinya merges them, so nothing is counted twice and gaps fill in.
  • If the logger stopped mid-war, start it again within 3 hours and choose Continue that war: it stays one war.

Several guilds, or none

The Recording for menu in the sidebar switches between the guilds you've signed in to on this PC, adds another guild, or picks No guild to record without uploading. Under Recordings, each war has Upload to… (for wars recorded without a guild) or Move to… (to send it to another of your guilds).

Files for other tools

Every recording folder gets logs for Ikusa, GuildYapper, CritIQ, CoGM and Nodewar.gg, a results spreadsheet and death positions. The same files are on each war page under Export.

Settings

Close to the taskbar tray keeps Jinya running (and recording) when you close the window. You can also pick the app's color scheme and background there.

War pages

  • Replay: the kill map, timeline and kill feed. Play the war back, or click a fight to jump to it.
  • Results: everyone on your side with kills, deaths and the results screen's columns. The slider above it replays the results over the war. Choose columns (including gear score) from the Columns menu; your choice is remembered.
  • Players: click a name for their war: K/D against each guild, rivals, and this war next to their usual.
  • Enemy guilds: click a guild to see its players rebuilt from your kill feed. In uncapped wars, each guild's average gear score shows next to its name.
  • Sharing: Copy link gives a link with a preview card for Discord. Officers set who can see the war.
  • Wrong guild? If you uploaded to the wrong guild, move the war (when only you recorded it) or take your recording out.

Who can see a war: Public (anyone, listed), Unlisted (anyone with the link), Guild (members and allied guilds) or Officers.

Members and roles

  • Owner: manages roles, links families, the Discord link and the plan. There's one per guild.
  • Officers: edit wars and settings, manage attendance and alliances.
  • Members: see the guild's wars and their own attendance, and record wars.

The owner links each member to their in-game family name on the Member Roles tab (suggestions come from the in-game guild list, read every hour). Linked families count as members on war pages and get their own statistics.

Transfer ownership is at the bottom of the Member Roles tab: choose a member who has signed in to Jinya and confirm with your two-step code or a code we email you. You stay on as an officer.

Attendance

Attendance is part of Pro.

A family attended a war when it's on one of the war's results screens or in its kill feed. Pick the period and war types at the top. Members see their own row; officers see everyone.

  • Excuse a war: click a missed war's square in someone's row (click again to undo).
  • Vacation: "Vacation…" sets a start day and, if known, an end day. Wars in between don't count.
  • Doesn't war: leaves crafters and alts out of attendance and member statistics. They're under their own filter.

Excused wars and vacations never count as missed, and don't break streaks.

Member statistics

Officers open the Members tab for member statistics: everyone's kills, deaths, K/D, CCs, damage dealt and taken, healing, structure damage and best streak over a period. With Pro, attendance and gear score are there too.

The performance score (0 to 100) compares each member with the guild's best: every number is scaled to the best member's, multiplied by a weight your officers choose (-5 to 5), and added up. A negative weight counts against the score; 0 leaves that number out. Change the weights to see the scores move, then save them for all officers.

Gear

Gear tracking is part of Pro.

The Gear tab shows each member's gear score from their in-game profile. When a profile is private, the member can link their Garmoth character on the Gear tab, and choose which of its builds counts. The link is per guild, so your accounts in different guilds can have different gear. Gear stays on your guild's pages and never appears in public statistics.

Discord

  • Sign in with Discord works for everyone. The guild's owner can add Jinya's bot to a Discord server (Discord tab) and map server roles to member and officer.
  • Roles are checked every hour, when someone signs in, and when you press Sync now. People with a mapped role appear on the Member Roles tab even before they sign in, so you can link their families early.
  • A guild can link several servers (its own and an alliance server), and several guilds can share one server.
  • War summaries: paste a channel webhook in Settings and each war's summary is posted there when it ends.

Alliances

As in game, up to three guilds form an alliance with a lead guild (Settings tab). Allied guilds' recordings of the same war merge into one result, and allied members can open each other's guild-only wars from that time. While in an alliance, every guild follows the lead's public statistics setting and its "Who can see new wars" choice.

Importing past wars

Moving from another logger? Officers use Import a past war on the Wars tab: a kill log from Ikusa, GuildYapper, CritIQ or Nodewar.gg, and/or a results table as a CSV. Choose the date, start time and war details; the page previews what it read before you import.

These logs only have clock times, so the start time places them. If you don't know the date, tick I don't know the date: the war is kept as "date unknown" and never counts in public statistics or attendance.

Guild settings

  • Public war list: anyone can see the list of your wars (war pages follow their own visibility).
  • Who can see new wars: the visibility new wars start with.
  • Public statistics: included, included with names hidden, or not included (see below).
  • Color scheme and background: the colors of your guild page, war pages and dashboard, and of your link previews.

Public statistics

Statistics show class popularity and performance and leaderboards across every guild that shares its wars. Each guild chooses whether its wars count, and whether its members show by name. A player whose family is linked can choose for themselves on their account page; that choice beats the guild's. The gear score leaderboard uses public in-game profiles only.

Your account

  • Turn on two-step sign-in on your account page (any authenticator app). It applies to every way you sign in.
  • Link Discord to an email account, or the other way round, from the account page.
  • Delete account is at the bottom of the account page. If you own a guild with other members, hand it over first; a guild you're the only member of is deleted with you. Wars you recorded stay with their guilds.
  • To ask what we hold about you, see the privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

The logger isn't seeing fights

Check that Npcap is installed and the game is running before you press Start. The status cards on the Live war screen show whether the game and its connection were found.

After a game patch

Patches move things around in the game's messages. The logger works out the new layout from the war itself and re-reads the war from the start; give it the first few fights.

No damage or CCs on the war page

Someone needs to open the in-game results screen while the logger runs. Open it after the war ends for the final numbers.

An antivirus flagged the logger

The installer is code-signed. If your antivirus still complains, download it again from the logger page and report it as a false positive.
